When Dionne asked me to collaborate in designing and setting up her birthday par-TEA, I couldn’t be more elated! I was the little girl who spent hours in her room pouring water from my kiddie tea pot into tiny tea cups for my dolls and stuffed animals so I’ve always loved a good tea service!
We held the affair at StudioWed Atlanta since it was the perfect setting for the unstructured, modern vintage look we were going for. The estate table was set with a simple white lace tablecloth, assorted autumn blooms and mismatched china Dionne sourced from thrift stores all across Atlanta.
The menu was delicious and all the foods were provided by A Pinch Bakery! Erica Williams, part owner of the bakery, was so excited to bake a naked cake! She follows cake bakers on social media from around the world and noticed their popularity in places like Australia for a long time. Dionne’s party was the perfect opportunity to showcase their very own recipe and design!
What I loved most about the menu was the peach rum infused tea! We steeped peach tea, added ginger simple syrup with a spot of peach rum and stirred it all together with a tasty cinnamon stick. It was so delicious I had a few cups of that alone!
We put all of this together—concept, design, menu and everything—in a two week time frame! Once Dionne got the inspiration, we worked at rocket speed to source all the elements to get everything in place and were very pleased with the results. Now, we’re very excited about our partnership offering vintage tea parties to the public! If you’re looking for a special way to celebrate a shower, birthday or just want to get together to play dress up and sip tea with your girls, contact Event Passion or A Pinch Bakery today!

Thank you so much for featuring us! I love a good tea and bringing people’s event dreams to life! This was so much fun and I can’t wait to do more!
I love Black Southern Belle and what this space represents. Your stories are important and resonate with so many women who didn’t see themselves in the media or on the internet before you came along and provided a positive, accurate portrayal of today’s black southern woman. Bravo and keep up the great work!
