Finding great food implies that you must find Black-Owned restaurants to enjoy. Black-Owned restaurants have a different flare about themselves. Some offer light and fresh cuisines while others are providing hearty fulfilling dishes as well. There are many places where you can find black-owned restaurants. Some are located in the North and many are located in the South and we want to make finding those resturants much easier for you by providing each of you;  this Black-Owned eatery guide featuring the Arkansas Delta. 

In the Arkansas Delta which includes Little Rock, Pine Bluff, Helena and Marianna Arkansas is where you can Black-Owned restaurants spread throughout.

Morgan’s Kitchen & Deli

A great down home cooking restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas is Morgan’s Kitchen & Deli. Featuring burgers, fries, patty melts and more comfort food, Morgan’s Kitchen & Deli will serve your Lowcountry desires from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM Sunday-Thursday. Also, 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. 

The Chopp Shop 

Have you ever tried smoked meat cooked for 6-12 hours to perfection? If you haven’t, The Chopp Shop has your desired essence of flavors.  No matter if it’s ribs, chicken,  or turkey legs , these  smoked meats fall off the bone when you are ready to enjoy them.  

Country Chic Chocolate Company

Every location desires a dessert eatery and the Arkansas Delta doesn’t disappoint. Country Chic Chocolate Company  has all your chocolate dipped needs. Whether its berries or crunchy bacon or fruits and vegetables, the Country Chic Chocolate Company provides everything covered in creamy sweet chocolate. “The Sweetest Place In The Delta” is definitely this Lowcountry Black-Owned restaurant. 

 

Jones Bar-B-Q Diner

Located in Marianna, Arkansas is Jones Bar-B-Q Diner. This southern favorite restaurant has been open since approximately the 1910s and is believed to be one of the country’s oldest black-owned restaurants. The cuisine of barbecue is a legend unto itself in the Mississippi Delta region and Jones Bar-B-Q Diner has added tasty foods and heritage to the culture of this area. 

History of the Arkansas Delta

The Arkansas Delta is composed of African American history and heritage. Since 1721, African Ameicans have been in the area of Arkansas and now the history continues.  Although slavery lasted until the early 1800s, African American Arkansans impacted the region in the way of life from agriculture to tradition. The Arkansas Delta is known for its acres of land in cotton, rice, soybeans, corn and wheat. This location is a rare jewel alongside the Mississippi River that provides many cities, HBCU fun and food places for us to enjoy.

The Arkansas Delta is an area where you can find African American history and Black-Owned restaurants near and far. In each city of the Arkansas Delta there is an eatery with dishes you as a Black Southern Belle or Black Southern Beau will love to try. So, use this guide to try a few restaurants in the great state of Arkansas.
