PROJECT SUMMARY The Arts Council New Orleans is excited to invite local artists to submit qualifications for Unframed 2.0: Presented by The Helis Foundation.

Unframed, Downtown’s first multi-mural exhibition, is a collaboration between The Helis Foundation and the Arts Council to commission murals by local and international artists in the New Orleans Arts District. Drawing from the district’s creative vitality, the program seeks to celebrate the area’s sophisticated urban landscape and legacy as a bustling contemporary arts destination.

Unframed 2.0 will debut in the Spring of 2020, adding three new commissions by womxn artists to the existing collection of five murals. The murals, though not related by a common theme, create a stimulating visual identity that compliments the district’s creative energy and enriches the experiences of visitors traveling to the many galleries, museums, and restaurants in the area. Our vision is to become the South’s leading mural arts city, making Downtown New Orleans an international destination for mural exhibitions.
