Howard Alum Presents Holiday Drive in Gullah Movie Experience in Beaufort, SC

Looking for something safe and culturally inspired to do this holiday season? Add a Gullah Christmas Movie Drive-In to your must-attend list. Complete with Gullah food vendors and social distancing, this Anita Pather, also known as Aunt Pearlie sue has pulled together an all-star Gullah cast and curated a film showcasing the Gullah Kinfolk Christmas Wish on the big screen. Details on the event are below along with some of my tips for attending a drive-in with style:

Tips for a Family Drive-In Experience:

–Curate a holiday inspired mocktail and bring your favorite melamime glassware or coffee holder

–Bring holiday inspired paperware including plates, spoons, straws and napkins.

–Purchase your favorite sauces, snacks and dips from Gullah or Black Owned Vendors to pair with the Gullah food on site

–Create a photoshoot opportunity by styling your car trunk and bringing chairs for you dining experience.

–Pack your items in a picnic or sweetgrass basket and be sure to include your favorite throw or shawl for the cooler temperatures.

–If you have kids pack toys and books to keep them busy in case they get antsy.

–Rain is always possible so bring a tailgate tent to keep you covered if allowed at the drive in.
