This post is super personal to me. Stephanie Hall and Ruth’s House were one of my favorite vendors for my wedding. I love decor more than life itself and furniture is my weakness. I wanted my decor to look like a house that I would want so that meant fancy chairs and cool couches but I wanted it all under a certain budget and Stephanie saved the day. Not too mention learning that she was my only BSB vendor. She inspired me to start this company and figure out more ways to support #Black Southern Belles. Why did you decide to start a business?
Our company was started based on a need, as there were no event rental companies within a 40 mile radius in all directions.
What is your favorite client story?
We love all of our clients – any event that ends with happy clients are our favorites.

Who are some of your business idols?
Darla Moore who is a native of Lake City, SC. I think it is admirable how she gives back to her community and her entire philanthropic approach that she exhibits throughout SC – I would love to be able to do that one day.
What is your favorite thing about being southern?
The warm hospitality that you can find pretty much anywhere you visit throughout the state and the Food.
What is your favorite southern dish?
There are so many! Fried Green Tomatoes and any fresh locally sourced seafood dish. One of my favorites is Crab Corn Chowder.
What is the most important thing you have done to build your business?
Building upon client relationships and ensuring that every customer is serviced with the best possible experience.
What are your favorite southern brands?
Sallie’s Jam’s – SC grown – with delectable combinations, such as Strawberry and Basil, or Peach and Lavender; they are delicious and one of my favorites. Sydney Hale Candle Co. based in Arlington, VA is also a favorite of mine. They have wonderfully scented hand poured soy candles. One of my favorites is the Agave + Honeysuckle fragrance.
What is your favorite item or piece of clothing to wear/use while doing business?
Colorful Cardigans and scarfs are staples in my closet and I literally have one or both on daily.
