We Southerners have a sweeter disposition overall but don’t be fooled. If need be, we can dress you down with smile on our face and keep our dignity intact.
What is your personal life motto:
Closed mouths don’t get fed. It’s a little country but the meaning still stands. If you want something, speak up! If you want to see change, speak out!
What is the most challenging professional obstacle you have had:
Having some colleagues in past jobs assume that I am not as knowledgeable in my chosen field due to my being a black female and/or having attended a HBCU
Who is your favorite character a “Different World”:
I was always a fan of Freddie ☺
If you could do any job, what would that be?
Actress!
Who do you wish you could meet?
This is a tough question because the more I think about it my list of people grows. But off the top of my head, I would like to meet President Obama after his second term is over and the pressure is off. He seems like he would keep it real.
What would your best friend say is the best/most annoying quality about yourself?
They said that my best quality is that I am very determined and focus and can get stuff done. If I’m in charge of something, they don’t have to worry about it. They said my annoying quality is that I can get stuck on things, like situations.
What advice would you give your younger college self?
Don’t let Chemistry steal your joy. You will be ok!
