We are all thawing out after a very cold beginning of the New Year. From Florida to Virginia, all the way to Mississippi, the South has Ahad a snowy winter. Snow is the perfect opportunity to spend time with family and an even better time to take family photos. AIf you have the opportunity to take images in the snow, we have the tools you need to take advantage of it. With the help of Morgan Crutchfield of Morgan Crutchfield Photography, we haveATips for Taking Images in the Snow and can see some beautiful examples from her Durhman, NC winter images.
Durham, NC Winter Images We Love & Tips for Taking Images in the Snow
1. Wear waterproof shoes/boots – Comfort is important and safety first. Not the right time to take out your favorite pair of heels ladies 🙂
2. Wear rich/dark colors to contrast with the snow – As much as we love bright colors at Black Southern Belle, there is nothing better than a classic black or blue outfit in the winter. Throw on your chicest cape and get ready for some fun.
3. Pack a blanket. It can be used as a prop as well as for sitting on. – You won’t want to bring out your furniture for this shoot so a blanket is a perfectly affordable option for seating during a family shoot and especially comes in hand with the little ones.
4. Donat forget to have fun in the snow! Snow doesn’t come around often in the South, so be sure to enjoy it when we do! Throw some snowballs, make snow angels and above all else put a smile on your face and make memories that will last a lifetime
Michiel is a Black Southern Belle living a lowcountry life. I love all things fashion, home decor and southern! When I am not running around doing fun stuff for Black Southern Belle, I live in antique stores and have a minor obsession with historic homes 🙂
