Gilliam was raised in Nashville but ventured to the west coast in early adulthood to pursue a career in performing arts. After her love for travel exposed her to innumerable landscapes and destinations, one thing continued to impassion her everywhere she went, and that was design. In 2004, she premiered her first interior design agency in Seattle, Washington, and allowed the vision to take off. With a decade in the industry under her belt, she brought her expertise back to the Music City.

Gilliam has a voluminous residential design portfolio and is highly esteemed within her network. She was selected for Metro Nashville Public Arts Commission and named Top 20 African American Designer by the Black Interior Designers Network in 2017. She recently designed Slim & Husky’s, the first Black-owned business on Nashville’s Broadway strip. Doors continue to open for Gilliam as she decorates the world in style.
