Where are you based?
Weāre based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Why did you decide to start a business?
I have always been passionate about photography, but I never had time to really think about it as a serious business. When my youngest daughter was born, we decided that I would stay home with the girls. I finally had the time to actually give it a try and it has been a journey ever since. Brian has been into DJing since college, but he only did it in his spare time before we launched the business.
What is your favorite client story?
Thereās not one story that I would say is our favorite, but all of them have a special place in our hearts. When we meet a new bride and her face lights up while telling us how her Fiance proposed over dinner or while at the Biltmore in Asheville, it makes us so happy. Everyone’s story may be different, but the love that they share for each other is pretty much the same.

Ike and Tash are an amazing photographer team. I also like Jasmine Star! When it comes to DJs, Brian likes Tiesto!
Do you have any mentors?
Not really, but we have been blessed to have lots of supportive local photographer and DJ friends.
What do you love about southern brides?
Iām a southern girl myself and I canāt get enough of what I call southern charm.I love lace dresses, rustic details, and sweet personalities. Those are the things that make up our southern brides. Plus nothing beats southern hospitality!
What are some of your favorite backdrops to shoot & why?
I really like open fields that are a little overgrown with grass. I love the simplicity of an open area as the backdrop. I also love colorful brick walls like in downtown Raleigh or Charlotte.
If you could choose three locations to shoot in NC for the rest of your life, where would they be and why?
The Peninsula Club on Lake Norman, Mordecai House in Raleigh, and downtown Wilmington, NC. The Peninsula Club is a gorgeous venue overlooking Lake Norman. The Mordecai House is the perfect blend of outdoors with lots of colorful, rustic buildings. Downtown Wilmington has so much charm and so many beautiful nooks for photos.
What is your favorite thing about being southern?
Hands down, the sweet tea. I love sweet tea.
What is your favorite southern dish?
Baked macaroni and cheese.
What southern values do you utilize to help you run your business?
Iām not sure if itās really a southern value, but we focus on building relationships with each of our couples. We want them to feel special and like a part of our family!
What is the most important thing you have done to build your business?
Prayer and setting realistic goals for ourselves.
What are your favorite southern brands?
Zaxbyās!
What is your favorite item or piece of clothing to wear/use while doing business?
My favorite items of clothing to wear is a colorful cardigan and some comfy Cole Haan loafers. Brianās go to item is a unique bowtie and a fun blazer!Ā
