Lowcountry Tailgaiting Inspiration: Tips for HBCU Tailgating at Home

Lowcountry Tailgaiting Inspiration: Tips for HBCU Tailgating at Home

As fall approaches and football season gets on its way, tailgating for HBCU students, alumni, and football fans is at its all-time peak. Whether it’s Greeks grilling on the yard of their HBCU campus or football fans camped outside their favorite team’s stadium, tailgating is the main event of these locations in the fall. However,  this year tailgating is not ideal for most Southern Belles and Southern Beau’s. With our current pandemic, many of our old traditions are being altered into new ways. One new way that has changed or will change for many of us is tailgating. However, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit and Lewis Barbecue is ready for the tailgating change and is preparing Southern tailgating foodies for this change as well.

LEWIS BARBECUE + CALLIE’S HOT LITTLE BISCUIT = TAILGATING-THEMED PACKAGES

Lewis Barbecue and Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit have teamed up to create two limited-edition tailgating packages. Filled with barbecue and biscuits; which are our all-time favorites, these packages are expected to give you the smoky flavors of the grill and the authentic tailgating experience in the comfort of your own home.

Each package will include handmade biscuits and smoked barbecue but in a way that many wish they had at all of their tailgating functions. The first package includes the “Toss the Pigskin & Pass the Biscuits” combo. This delicious combination includes a rack of pork ribs, a dozen buttermilk biscuits, and a side of fiery pimento cheese. With a basket filled with delicious foods, many families can enjoy their football game without the hassle of running back and forth to check on the meat on the grill.

The second package provides more pork and more sides! Ideal for a group of friends wanting to get together to reminisce about their college days, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit and Lewis Barbecue provide the “Lowcountry Pregame” combo. This tailgating meal includes a whole smoked brisket with Lewis Barbecue sauce trio, a dozen buttermilk biscuits, fiery pimento cheese along with Food for the Southern Soul’s Bloody Mary Mix and an All-Star package from Red Clay Hot Sauce.
