Hey Y’All! Can we talk about menopause? Can we talk about the related weight gain that goes along with it? Honestly, I can deal with many of the symptoms that come along with this stage in my life. I can put up with the hot flashes, the brain fog, the tiredness, mood swings and some of the other symptoms; however, the hardest and most depressing symptom I’ve had to deal with is the weight gain. Whether you go through menopause naturally or surgery, gaining weight and developing a rounder mid-section is almost a guarantee.

As I continue to read more to understand menopause, I’m learning this is more than experiencing physical changes, I’m also understanding my brain is undergoing significant changes as well. I have definitely become more empathetic and now there’s research to support this. The more I read, the more I realize that I need to be kind to my body and give myself grace. Going through the stages of menopause is tough and it’s a big deal. My brains is essentially being re-wired. I am processing life differently. My estrogen levels are changing.
