Tastemakers, design enthusiasts and industry leaders found inspiration for the holiday hosting season with a day of exploration and education centered on the heart of the home – kitchen and dining spaces – at our “Heritage at Home: The Kitchen” event on November 12 at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC).

Looking Back – Heritage at Home: The Kitchen

Attendees kicked off the day’s activities with an interactive brunch at the UpCountry Home showroom where they discovered new introductions in fine home furnishings, especially lighting, furniture, accessories and outdoor by Currey & Company.

Chef Tiffani Janelle opened the day’s programming with a panel of entertaining and living trendsetters who shared tips for making any home perfect for hosting from their interiors and event design practices. In a discussion that touched on creating a layout designed for entertaining, must-have items, how to encourage a sense of celebration and more, Tavia Forbes of Forbes Masters, Gail Johnson of Gail Johnson Weddings and Rhonda Peterson of Rhonda Peterson & Associates inspired attendees to plan their next event.

After lunch, attendees learned about one of the biggest trends in entertaining today: embracing outdoor spaces. Interior designer and lifestyle architect Hilari Younger of Ufunkshen, led a discussion with Kenya Brantley of Greenhouse Mercantile, Deitrich Logan of Logan Design Group, Chef Tiffani Janelle and Monet Masters of Forbes Masters about maximizing outdoor spaces for entertaining from building to design to styling and activation.

The day concluded with a gathering in the Forbes Masters space in the newly opened expansion of ADAC’s Design Studios.
