What’s more Southern than a close-knit family? It might just be family photos. Family photos have always been a Southern tradition that BSBs have adopted. It’s not only a way to record our family history but to put our creativity to use! Here are five tips from Lekisa Coleman-Smalls of LBZZ Photography on creating the perfect family photos.
1. Prepare your kids. Talk to them about the session, get them excited!!
2 Find comfortable outfits. Find something that makes you feel good.
3. Start getting dressed way ahead of time. You don’t want to be flustered give yourself enough time to make sure everyone is well put together. Little kids put the finishing touching on them right before you get out the car.
4. I know all parents want smiling kids, but sometimes it takes a few minutes for them to warm up to get that smile. If you keep saying smile, smile, smile. Nine times out of ten it probably will not be an authentic smile. Let them get comfortable with me and I will get them to smile.
5. Find images on Pintrest or online of other family session so your kids and husband will have an idea of what to expect.
