Tips on How to Host a Date Day at Home For Fall

As the parents of a newborn, my husband and I are constantly battling the clock and trying to balance it all. The one thing we said we would not budge on was having a date night. Except we had to make one big change, date night sometimes would be date day. With sleepless nights as new parents and busy work schedules, date days are our new reality. To save even more time as we also split our life between Charleston and Atlanta, we decided that date days had to be at home but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring and I am excited to share a few of my favorite date day ideas. With help from Santa Margherita Wines, I am sharing my Tips on How to Host a Date Day at Home.

Tips on How to Host a Date Day at Home For Fall

Host a Fall-Inspired Brunch

I am all about pairing wine with great food and stylish decor. Santa Margherita Wines pair perfectly with a light Lowcountry brunch (can never go wrong with shrimp and grits.). Pick out your favorite flowers (as a busy mom I literally picked up two sets of mums for 5 dollars each), grab your favorite linen and set the table for a fall inspired brunch.

Create a Dessert Soirée for Two

My husband and I have a serious love of sweets and with our little one keeping us busy, a little sugar gives us the energy we need to get through our busy days. It is also the perfect way to celebrate a date day, with desserts and wine. I love hosting a front porch dessert bar by bringing indoor furniture outdoors. It makes for a change of pace and gives me an excuse to redecorate.

Bar Cart Fun on the Front Porch

If anyone has ever been to my home, you know I love a great bar cart. An easy way to have a unique date day is by bringing your bar cart to your front porch. It makes for a simple yet unique date day experience. Add your favorite playlist and you have your own outdoor lounge without leaving home.

As a traditional girl, Santa Margherita was a great choice for pairing with some of my favorite Southern bites. This wine is a great option for someone looking for a classic and go-to bottle that exudes quality and practicality. If you love a great light wine, the Prosecco Superiore and Pinot Grigio are definite crowd-pleasers, perfect for any Lowcountry inspired seafood dish or southern sweet you serve.

If you are looking to maintain date days (or nights for those without newborns, girlfriend nights or just a little of your own me-time with a busy schedule or life change, try these at home entertaining options paired with Santa Margherita Wines. Be sure to share images of your date days with us on social media using the hashtag #blacksouthernbelle because we can’t wait to see all of your southern inspired fun!
