The cafe’s namesake, Prim, is a heartfelt tribute to owner Ashley Blake’s daughter, embodying the dual symbolism of “Primrose,” or “the first bloom.” This reflects the cafe’s philosophy that the first cup of coffee can set the tone for the day. “Your morning coffee is like the first given rose of your day,” Blake muses. “It helps your day bloom in the way you want it to. Prim’s Cafe is about honoring that moment, and honoring legacy—both the one we inherit and the one we create.”

Drawing inspiration from the comforting ambiance of a Southern grandmother’s home, co-owner Ashley Mason-Greene has joined forces with Blake to craft an inviting space. The cafe’s design encourages gatherings, offering a welcoming environment where families, neighbors, and friends can come together in warmth and connection.

Prim’s Café takes pride in its artisanal coffee, sourced from Baltimore’s renowned Adee’s Coffee & Bar. The menu also features a distinctive lavender latte, crafted with house-made lavender syrup, reflecting the cafe’s bloom-inspired essence.

Beyond being just a coffee shop, Prim’s Cafe embodies the belief that strong communities are built through shared experiences. The space especially welcomes moms and children, fostering connections that span generations. “Community is what drives neighborhoods and strengthens families,” Blake emphasizes. “Prim’s Cafe is a place to connect, uplift, and start the day with intention.”
