What’s better than a childhood crush? This southern beau didn’t get discouraged when his junior high crush rejected his advances because he wasn’t “gentleman” enough. Lucky for him, he would have a second chance in life to win over his southern belle. From middle to high school to finding each other on Facebook, Taylor and Kwame’s love story proves that love will always come around at the right time.

“ I remember things a little differently than Kwame. My earliest memory of Kwame was 9th grade. We had a class together. Kwame didn’t say much, but when he did speak, you could bet it was something completely hilarious in a “Why did you say that?” sort of way.”

“I first saw Taylor in middle school sitting at a desk. Instantly when I saw her I liked her, not knowing anything about her at the time. She was close with someone I knew so I asked him to tell her I liked her. “

“From there, we continued to cross paths, because Carvers Bay High School is so small it is impossible not to. Our next class, together was 11th grade. This was when we had the most interaction and when his feelings for me became undeniable. I was still in denial a bit. Mr. Franklin was our teacher and he apparently saw marriage in our future way before I could.”

“The next time I saw her was weeks later at a water fountain where I cut her in line. The next day our mutual friend came and told me she said she didn’t like me because I wasn’t a gentleman.”

“ Kwame actually ended up confessing his admiration for me days before high school graduation and I was rather upset. We had spent years in the same school and same space and he waited until then to finally admit it!”

“I thought my chance with her was over then so I did not try again for awhile. Then, we had class together in 11th grade. From that point, I think our stories line up!”

“Long story short, we graduated, we went different directions and then May 2010 our paths crossed once again. I was on Facebook one evening and saw he was online also so I decided to write him and the rest is history!”
