Tips for Using a Scarf

One of my favorite fashion items? A silk scarf! They upgrade any look in an instant. My favorite ways for styling a scarf are on my head, on my neck, and on my purse.

If you follow me on IG then you have definitely seen me accessorize with scarves. They work any time of the year and help to add color to any look. Some of my favorite scarves to style are from Effie’s Paper, J.Crew, and Madewell. – Kayln Johnson

According to Kaylyn, “The options are truly endless here. Whether you want the scarf to be the main focus of your hairstyle or an added touch. You can style it in a number of different ways. Here are some of my favorite ways to incorporate it.”

Headband

Johnson gives us tips for using a scarf  as a headband and says “A fun and simple option to add a pop of color and texture to any look. It elevates an everyday look without taking time out of your day. You can fold the scarf up and tie it at your neck or you can add a bow when tying the ends together.”

Neckerchief

Another fun way to wear your scarf is of course on your neck. Kaylyn describes her favorite tips A s “A style I find myself rocking and loving is a good neckerchief. The accessory will take you a minute top to add and the effect will be fabulous. You will fold your scarf in half so you have a triangle. Then you’ll want to roll the scarf starting from the long end to the point. Leave a bit of it unrolled so that you can tie it at the end. I like the look of a double knot to ensure it sticks and has a bit more volume.”

On My Purse

Southern women love their pures and Kalyn does as well. She goes on to tell us ” If you know me, then you know that I love my purses! I carry one with me every day and they carry my essentials. Want to know what’s in my bag? Find out here.”

5 TIPS FOR PACKING STYLISHLY FOR A GOLF TRIP FROM KALYN JOHNSON:

  • Choose a color palette;
  • Pack your golf shoes, golf towels, golf hats and other accessories in your golf bag;
  • Think about what you’re going to do off the golf course and pack specifically for those “events” – a spa day, fancy dinner out, brunch with friends. This way you have the clothes you need.  My packing hack is to try everything on at home. This does two things: confirms that everything fits and it means that I don’t have to plan out every outfit, but once I’m done, I have a sense of what will work well together.
  • Pack extra socks and put them in your golf bag – sometimes courses are muddy and it’s nice to be able to change your socks if you need to.
  • Have fun with your golf outfits; even if your golf game isn’t pretty, your outfit and accessories can be!
