What is the most challenging professional obstacle you have had?
It’s easy to lose your identity to a job title, for many its the first thing out of our mouths when someone asks us about ourselves. When I left my law firm job I had a small identity crisis, “If I don’t practice law then who am I?” I came to learn that am a child of the most high God, and that alone is sufficient.
Favorite character a “Different World:”
Whitley, although I was more of a Cosby Show girl, Clair and Vanessa all the way!
If you could do any job, what would that be?
This beauty vlog is my passion, there is nothing I would rather do than spread beauty and positivity. I majored in English at Spelman, and I would love to eventually turn my messages into a book as well!
Who do you wish you could meet?
George R.R. Martin, I have pressing Game of Thrones questions.
Why did you start a beauty vlog?
Growing up I put a great deal of value on looking beautiful, but as I’ve gotten older what I connect with the most is when someone has a beautiful spirit. This vlog merges both, I end each video with a word of encouragement or a scripture because the beauty of the soul will not fade.
What are some of your favorite beauty products?
Clear and supple skin is my ultimate beauty goal so my skincare routine is the most important to me. Right now I am loving the Charcoal Facial Detox by Destiny Boutique (I have a vlog about it, so check it out!) and SheaMoisture’s Raw Shea Butter Anti-Aging Moisturizer.
What beauty tips would you give on how to handle the southern heat and humidity?
I love Fresh’s Rose Floral Toner, it’s a great refresher to spritz when you want to cool down or reset your makeup, and it’s infused with rose water.
What advice would you give your younger college self?
The universe is conspiring for your good; and God will not withhold anything that is good for you. No’s and breakups are blessings too!
